Rolling Suture Inventory
Mobile Suture Cart - Reduces Waste by Having a Rolling Inventory
In order to keep our operating rooms flexible and maintain stock at acceptable levels myself and an operating room nurse designed four double-sided suture carts that can be delivered out-side the OR suite door for immediate access.
We have added the the suture carts to the surgeon’s preference card for large cases were the amount pulled in the case cart may-or-may not be sufficient for the procedure.
In all we do not stock each OR suite with extra suture which eliminates additional stock, ordering, and out-dates.
Charge sheets for each service type are also added to the carts to insure billing.
Standard Parts From Inter-Metro
We built the carts with standard wire shelving from Inter-Metro using 18x24 shelves with 36-inch posts on 6-inch casters; 48-inch post for the ortho/vascular cart. The two sided suture cart features two service types, four in all, vascular/ortho and general/plastics.
Side View With Charge Sheet Pouch Attached
We were able to make the carts double sided by utilizing a 24-inch divider from InterMetro on each shelf going from left to right in place of front to back. This can be best seen from the front view.
We also utilized a plastic divider from Omnicell to separate each type of suture.
